About Lucas

Chiswick drum teacher Lucas Parlato is one of the most exciting and inspiring drum teachers in London. As well as a wealth of experience as an educator, he brings his huge array of experience as a studio and live session player to the lessons too. His vast experience in both areas make Lucas’ lessons unique and energetic.

Born in Argentina, Lucas started playing drum kit at 12 years old. He performed his first professional show at the age of 16 with Bhangra-fusion artist Kissmet. He went on to play with Kissmet for a full decade afterwards!

Lucas’ performing experience has taken him to a range of presitgious venues and festivals, ranging from the London Palladium to Glastonbury. He has performed with household names such as the Pet Shop Boys, Craig David and Katy B, to name just a few.

Lucas is also an experienced percussionist, playing with Duke Dumont on BBC Radio One’s infamous Live Lounge feature.

Lucas specialises in teaching both adults and children, from the ages of 11 and upwards.

"Learning new skills get harder as you get older (and I also have a very analytical job) so just having to approach something so different was really daunting. My teacher PJ was really open to talking about how I prefer to learn and what I want out of drumming. We have created my learning path accordingly, whilst having a lot of fun! It’s baby steps but I am beginning to build muscle memory and I can see progress from when I started. It’s amazing – and I have kept it up!"

Qualifications

Chiswick drum teacher Lucas Parlato graduated from the London College of Music (LCM) in 2013. He was awarded with a Bachelor of Music, specialising in popular music performance.

Lucas is highly experienced teacher – he has taught drums and percussion for over 10 years to a diverse mix of students covering all age groups and ability levels.

Lucas also has a great deal of peripatetic teaching experience, teaching one-to-one lessons, conducting percussion ensemble workshops, and preparing students for a range of grade examinations in secondary schools across London.

Chiswick drum teacher Lucas is also fluent in Spanish and Italian.
