About Freddie

Hampton guitar teacher Freddie Edwards was born into a musical family, following in his father’s footsteps by pursuing a career in the music industry.

Soon after graduating from The Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM), he was snapped up as a session guitarist for the iconic Francis Rossi of Status Quo. Soon after, Freddie was asked to join the Status Quo lineup on a more permanent basis.

After extensively touring across both the UK & Europe, Freddie switched his focus to becoming a full time member in Flawes, an Alternative Pop act who signed to Red Bull Records in 2016. The group had immediate success with debut single Don’t Wait For Me becoming BBC Radio 1’s coveted Record of the Week.

After support tours with Ella Eyre, Maxïmo Park and AJR, Flawes released their debut album Highlights in early 2020. Freddie is currently in the studio with the band working on their second album.

Guitar Lessons

Hampton guitar teacher Freddie Edwards has been hugely passionate about teaching guitar since graduating from the ACM. He has been teaching students of all abilities for over ten years. Freddie is extremely enthusiastic about sharing both his knowledge of the instrument and the realities of life as a musician, bringing his own valuable experiences into the lessons.

Freddie prides himself on being punctual, polite and reliable. He strives to make learning the guitar as fun and rewarding as possible. Freddie tailors all of his lessons to the individual and is especially knowledgable in the genres of pop, rock, blues and also country.

Freddie also specialises in improvisation technique and industry knowledge. He also has extensive industry experience and helps tutor more advanced students on how to start a career as a guitarist, particularly those interested in session work and touring.
