About Wes

Wood Green guitar teacher Wes Burton is a confident, polite, enthusiastic and encouraging multi-instrumentalist – teaching an array of instruments, including guitar, bass and music production.

Wes splits his time teaching privately around the Wood Green area, alongside balancing his production work (including mixing, mastering and composing) whilst also working as an Audio Engineering Tutor at the world renowned Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP). It’s this blend of experience in the industry and experience tutoring which makes him such a sought after teacher in the north London area.

Previously, Wes achieved his first class BA (Hons) degree at the ICMP before moving onto a postgraduate MA in Music Production. He was awarded a scholarship for his postgraduate studies, specialising in progressive rock, metal, jazz-funk and reggae.

Before moving to Wood Green Wes was based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. He began his career in the north, playing guitar with progressive rock group Yugen. The group performed across the region and Wes headed up the production of their debut album Call of the Void whilst building his very own studio in the process.

Currently, Wes is Musical Director, producing and playing bass for the group Hello Amnesia. The group have played prestigious venues such as Islington Assembly Hall, and can be seen performing live around the capital and beyond, having taken their tour to Portugal in 2022.

Qualifications

Wood Green guitar teacher Wes Burton has an MA in Music Production from the London based Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP). He studied there previously, gaining a first class honours BA (Hons) degree in Creative Music Production too. He studied at the ICMP from 2017 to 2021.

Wes also currently tutors at the ICMP, where he is an Audio Engineering Tutor. He is also fully trained in Logic Pro X and proficient in multiple DAW’s, having engineered, produced, mixed and mastered many projects with artists up and down the country.

Wes is DBS checked (enhanced).
