Privacy Policy
At Make More Music Limited we are fully committed to maintaining the trust, confidence and privacy of visitors to our Website (https://makemoremusic.uk) and Users of our Portal (https://portal.makemoremusic.uk). This Privacy Policy explains the type of information that we collect, why we collect it and how we use it.
To be clear from the outset – Make More Music Limited does not sell, transfer or use data for any reason other than maintenance and provision of our own services and any of the associated Teachers.
If you have additional questions or require further information about our Privacy Policy, don’t hesitate to contact us at jack@makemoremusic.uk. Our full contact details are at the end of this page.
Cookies
As is typical with most websites, both our Website and Portal utilise Cookies to collect information about your activity. Cookies – small files placed on your device – are used to remember when your device visits either our Website and Portal. They are vital for the full operation of both our Website and Portal.
We use Cookies for two main reasons:
- The Website and Portal: Cookies are used for technical purposes for effective operation of the Website and Portal. Within the Portal, Cookies are used to keep Users signed in, to maintain view settings during sessions, and also to display status messages. Our payment processor Stripe also sets essential Cookies.
- The Website only: Cookies are used to collect information about browsing habits and general usage of the Website. This includes information on the pages you visit and to track the success of any marketing campaigns we are running. (There are no tracking Cookies on the Portal at all).
The Cookies stored on your device have either been designed by ourselves, our web Developer or third parties who will collect analytical data themselves.
Currently we use the following third party resources:
- Google Analytics (behavioural analytics) – Website only
- Google Ads (advertising) – Website only
- Tawk.to (chat to Website visitors) – Website only
- RankMath (behavioural analytics) – Website only
- Stripe (payment processing) – Portal only
Each of these third parties have their own Privacy Policy available on their own websites (linked as above) which we encourage you to read.
You can change your browser settings to reject or disable Cookies on your device at any time. Resources on how you can do this for a range of devices are available via Google search here:
Please note that if you disable Cookies our Website and Portal will not fully operate, including features that are essential to the booking of your Lessons or navigation of the Website. You can contact us at jack@makemoremusic.uk if you run into any issues that prevent you from accessing the full range of services on the Website and Portal.
Mailing Lists / Newsletters
We do not currently run any mailing lists or newsletters. As a result you will not receive any marketing emails for any of our services. You will only receive correspondence from us that is necessary for us to fulfil our services.
Providing Data
You can contact us about being paired with a Teacher via these main ways:
- Phone, text or WhatsApp via 07707 984684 (Jack) or 07541 145562 (Kirsten)
- Email via jack@makemoremusic.uk or kirsten@makemoremusic.uk
- Contact forms available throughout our website
If you contact us via any of the above methods, you consent to us returning your correspondence via the methods you have provided to us (usually phone or email). The contact forms on our website specifically ask for your name, email and phone number as a minimum as this is how we will return your correspondence. This information will be stored on a database system called Keap (see below).
At this point we will only contact you in regards to your request to be paired with an appropriate Teacher. If you no longer wish to take your enquiry further, we will immediately remove your details from our database upon your instructions.
When returning your request, we will usually ask you for these key pieces of information, if we do not have it already:
- Your name and/or the name of the Student
- Further contact details (phone, email and address details)
- Your availability or the Student’s availability
This is so that we can gather the necessary information to start the process of pairing you with an appropriate Teacher. This helps ensure the best possible match. It is important that we find out more about you or the Student and this will mean we ask you additional questions about age, experience and location.
It is important to note that we will pass circumstantial information onto any Teachers we feel you are appropriately matched with. This is so they can make a determination as to whether they are able to conduct the Lessons.
We do not pass any of your personal details (including name(s), age, precise location, email address or phone number) or anything identifiable to any Teacher until you are fully paired with the Teacher and a Lesson has been arranged between yourselves.
Where Is Your Data?
We collate details of enquiries into a database system operated by Keap (by Infusionsoft) so we can recall information, keep track of the status of your enquiries and the pairing process.
Keap is a US-based software company. They store our data in various locations outside of the UK. You can read their own Privacy Policy here – https://keap.com/legal/privacy-policy.
As well as providing a database solution, Keap tracks opens or clicks within emails we send via their platform. For any of these emails there is an Unsubscribe option at the end of the email. However we do not run mailing list campaigns or newsletters.
We will keep your details within Keap until you tell us to remove them.
If you decide to book a Lesson with one of the Teachers, we transfer your details to our own Database on the Make More Music Portal (please see below for further details). We only do this if you intend to schedule a Lesson and for no other reason.
Portal Account Data – applicable to Student Account Holders (Users)
Once you have been paired with a Teacher and you are ready to book your first Lesson, we will ask you to complete your Portal User account.
When completing your Portal User account we will ask for the following information to be confirmed:

Dates of birth are asked for under 18’s for two main reasons: 1) for potential future exam entries and 2) in case an emergency arises if a parent/guardian is not present. In both cases a date of birth is used for identification purposes. You can refuse to give us this information (see “Data Protection Rights” below).

Portal Account Data – applicable to both Student Account Holders (Users) & Teachers
All passwords are stored encrypted. We strongly encourage you to create a password which is difficult to guess and to create a unique password that you have not used elsewhere.
No card details are stored in the Portal Database. These are stored and processed securely by our payment processor, Stripe (see Payment Facilitation section below).
The Portal web application (and associated Portal Database) is hosted on a Virtual Private Server (VPS), located in London, UK. The server is managed by hosting provider Opalstack. You can read Opalstack’s Privacy Policy here – https://www.opalstack.com/privacy.html
Backups of the source code and Portal Database are taken at regular intervals, to ensure the continuity of our services. These are stored:
- On the aforementioned Virtual Private Server
- On Dropbox. You can read Dropbox’s Privacy Policy here – https://www.dropbox.com/privacy. Only Make More Music Limited’s Director and the Developer, Ffion Atkinson have access to these.
- By the hosting provider, Opalstack

- On the Personal Computer and external drive of the Developer, Ffion Atkinson.
Some phone numbers may be stored for convenience in Make More Music’s work phone(s), which are pin code or password protected.
Payment Facilitation
The Portal uses Stripe for payment processing services. This is to ensure that all payments are made securely and are fully compliant with the most up to date payment processing regulations. The Stripe Services Agreement can be found here – https://stripe.com/gb/ssa. This agreement may be updated by Stripe at their own discretion.
As a result, card details will be stored securely by Stripe and not on our own servers. Stripe will retain your card information so that we can make charges for Lessons and process refunds for any applicable Lessons. Make More Music Limited does not have access to your card details but we can see the last 4 digits of your card number, the expiry date, the type of card and your provider. If a payment fails the bank may return an error message with further details, such as insufficient funds, an expired card, a card reported stolen, etc. None of the aforementioned card details, including any error messages, are accessible by or communicated to your paired Teacher(s).
Any data transferred between our services and Stripe is done over HTTPS.

Make More Music Limited is currently limited to a team of two. You can contact Jack (Director) at 07707 984684 or jack@makemoremusic.uk or Kirsten (Lead Administrator) at 07541 145562 or kirsten@makemoremusic.uk.
There are only three main administrative accounts associated with the Portal. The first is for Jack, the Director of Make More Music Limited, for day to day operations vital to the operation of the company. The second account is for Kirsten, for her to pair up Teachers and Students and assist in arranging the first Lesson. The third account is for the third party web Developer, Ffion Atkinson, who administers the Portal and associated Database. You can find their details here – https://ffionatkinson.co.uk.
We use RJM Accountants for our accounting. You can find their details here – http://rjmaccountants.co.uk. RJM Accountants require access to financial records that relate to any transactions made on behalf of the Teachers.
We use QuickBooks accounting software. Previously we would store some of the data listed above in “Portal Account Data” in QuickBooks. This stopped in October 2021 as we moved to the Portal at this point. We are still required by law to keep information prior to October 2021 in QuickBooks for at least six-years beyond this date.
Updating Your Data
You can update much of your personal information in the Portal itself. If you require a name change, please contact us directly at jack@makemoremusic.uk and we can process this for you. Please note that Keap and the Portal are not syncronised, so we will need to manually make any updates that you request to both databases.
External Links
The Make More Music Portal offers Teachers the option of adding external links to individual Lessons. This commonly includes links to songs on YouTube, or links to resources (such as sheet music or MP3s) on a cloud-based file hosting service. Whilst we are confident that Teachers will only provide external links that are safe, reputable, age appropriate and relevant to the Lesson itself, Make More Music Limited is not responsible for any external links and has no legal liability for the content of any external links.
Any external links are provided as a convenience and links provided do not imply an endorsement of any content or product. Make More Music Limited is not responsible for the content, accuracy or opinions expressed via external links. We suggest that you review the terms of use and privacy statements on any external links prior to using them.
