Book a lesson with Aylesbury drum teacher Josh:
Aylesbury drum teacher Josh Hussey started his teaching career back in 2006, when he taught drums in several special educational needs schools and primary schools across the north of England. He balanced this whilst studying at Leeds Conservatoire (formerly Leeds College of Music), then moved onto the prestigious Royal Northern College of Music, where he received his 1st class honours degree.
Josh then went onto drum for Manchester-based outfit Prose, before becoming drummer and Musical Director for Mahalia in 2015, who went onto win Best Female Act and Best R&B/Soul Act at the 2020 MOBO Awards.
Josh left these roles to join alt pop act Flawes, who signed with Red Bull Records in 2016. Their debut single Don’t Wait For Me quickly earned its place as BBC Radio 1’s Record of the Week.
Within Flawes, Aylesbury drum teacher Josh has gone onto support Ella Eyre, Maxïmo Park and AJR, before releasing their debut album Highlights in spring 2020. Josh is currently hard at work in the studio polishing off Flawes’ second album, due for release in later 2022.
He is always enthusiastic, positive, encouraging, prepared, reliable and forward-thinking. He enables our child to tackle challenges and noticeably builds her capability as a drummer each lesson. Our daughter really enjoys her sessions with Josh and has come on so much more and so much faster than we had ever anticipated. We are so pleased that we were fortunate enough to start lessons with him and really look forward to watching our child develop as a drummer in future as a result of Josh’s tuition. We cannot recommend him enough."
Aylesbury drum teacher Josh Hussey holds a first class BMus (Hons) degree from the world renowned Royal Northern College of Music.
In addition Josh holds a grade 8 (distinction) in drum kit, grade 5 ABRSM theory and a BTEC in Popular Music from Leeds Conservatoire, formerly Leeds College of Music.
Josh is also endorsed by Vater, Remo, Protection Racket and Roland.
Hybrid Lessons (Remote & In Person)
Aylesbury drum teacher Josh Hussey is now offering hybrid remote and in person drum lessons. Driven by demand from online lessons during COVID-19, Josh has devised a new way of delivering lessons that keep momentum up whilst reducing travel.
In-person lessons in Aylesbury are combined with remote lessons from the student’s own home. This unique way of learning has proven incredibly popular with his existing students, especially with Josh being able to deliver lessons on the road. This fits in exceptionally well with our aim to help offset carbon emissions for music lessons.
