About Riccardo

Manor House drum teacher Riccardo Chiaberta is one of the capitals finest players, known for his multi-instrumental talents in drum kit, piano, composition and performance.

He teaches from his studio based in Manor House, either in person or delivering lessons online. Riccardo’s students benefit from learning under a well-rounded musician, actively working within the industry itself. He’s able to bring this knowledge into the lessons, something his students have seen huge success with.

Riccardo’s performing highlights include slots at prestigious festivals such as Glastonbury Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, London Jazz Festival and Eurosonic Festival. He’s also performed at legendary venues such as Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, The Jazz Cafe, Blue Note Milano, Pizza Express Jazz Club, The Vortex Jazz Club, Tones on the Stones and MITO Milano.

Riccardo is currently part of the jazz / electronic duo Moonfish alongside performing with the rising star Maria Chiara Argirò, including on her album Forest City (released by the LA-based label Innovative Leisure – BADBADNOTGOOD). He co-founded the Kino Trio, alongside Bruno Heinen (a professor at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance) on piano and Michele Tacchi on electric bass. Their critically acclaimed debut album Il Cielo Sopra Berlino was released in 2019 on the Babel Label.

Riccardo has also been a member of Dugong for over a decade. They recently released their third album Let the Good Be Good. The Guardian called them a one-off European jazz/post-rock quartet and BBC Radio 6 Music said that “Dugong is a unique proposition on the European jazz scene”. Check out their video of Fantasma right here!

Manor House drum teacher Riccardo has released both a single and two albums under his own name: Camden Town, A Bird Told Me (pianist/composer) and Lux (drummer/composer) – all released by Honolulu Records.

We interviewed Riccardo about all things drums and piano in August 2023. Click here to find out more!
