About Siân
Finsbury Park drum teacher Siân Monaghan is one of London’s most skilled and inspiring drum tutors. It is this unique combination that has made Siân so popular with her students.

Siân regularly puts her students through the most well-known and state recognised exam boards – both Trinity College London and RSL Awards – but never pressures anyone to take exams.

Collaborations & Awards
Having recently won Americana Association UK’s respected ‘Instrumentalist of the Year Award 2020’, Finsbury Park drum teacher Siân is well known for working across styles with a range of artists. Such artists include Jessie Buckley, Stick in the Wheel, She Drew the Gun, China Crisis, The Wandering Hearts and Derek Forbes (Simple Minds).
Siân’s independent work has also seen her collaborate with electronica artists and producers all over the world from Fink to Basshunter and she is currently working in the studio with Bristol-based producer Kayla Painter.
In addition, Siân has played around the world including tours in mainland Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Scandinavia.
After developing a love for percussion at a young age, Siân began with an orchestral background but soon threw herself into a variety of styles and found herself playing big band jazz at the Montreux Jazz Festival at the age of just 17.
Qualifications
Siân holds a BA (Hons) from the prestigious Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), which was founded by Sir Paul McCartney.
